My name is Mrs. Rush, and I teach band at Jackson, Kennedy, Madison, Van Buren and Wilson elementary schools and orchestra at Jackson, Kennedy, and Wilson elementary schools.
I grew up in McFarland, Wisconsin. I began playing piano when I was 4 years old and have continued in music ever since. I joined band in 6th grade, and I played in Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestras through most of high school, as well as the Wisconsin State Honors Orchestra for one year. Oboe is my primary instrument, but I enjoy playing everything.
I received my undergraduate degree in Instrumental Music Education from UW-Stevens Point. There, I played in many ensembles, including UWSP bands and orchestra, woodwind quintet, double reed choir, and the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra.
I live in McFarland where my husband, John, teaches high school math. I enjoy reading, cooking, watching Brewer games and spending time with my family and friends. This is my 3rd year teaching 5th grade instrumental music in Janesville, and I am very excited for everything this year has to offer.
